Elvis “Sighting” at Greendale Historical Society Storefront on April 30

The Greendale Historical Society is hosting an exhibit that includes portraits of Elvis Presley and Vince Lombardi, cross-stitch pieces, and photography highlighting life in early Greendale. The exhibit will be open to the public on Saturday, April 23 and Saturday, April 30 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at 5676 Broad Street in historic downtown Greendale. Admission is free.
On Saturday, April 30, Greendale Historical Society member Dave Bruno will perform his Elvis impersonation at the society’s storefront location from 10 a.m. to noon. In addition, four paintings by Carl Ruppert will be on display. Ruppert has previously sold his Elvis paintings at Graceland in Memphis, Tennesee. Ruppert has also donated several of his paintings to the Greendale Historical Society for a raffle to held this summer. Ruppert and Bruno will be available for photos and to answer questions about their respective artistic impressions of Elvis.
Work from local artists Steve Peters, Ken Judy, Donna Kewan and Gail Bremer will also be featured. The exhibit features selected photos from the society’s archives and original maps from the early construction days of Greendale. For new residents, parents and students, this is a unique opportunity to learn more about the unique history of Greendale, Wisconsin, one of three Greenbelt communities built during the Great Depression.
